Miramare Apartments, Makrygialos

Our Miramare Studios are in a dream location. They are right on the beautiful sandy beach of the holiday resort of Makrigialos in the south-east. The former fishing village has blossomed into a popular holiday resort in recent years, where you can sit back and soak up the Cretan beach atmosphere. You will feel relaxed and refreshed shortly after your arrival!

The Miramare Studios are just a few metres from typical Cretan tavernas by the sea, and you can easily walk to the beach in your swimming costume. All of Makrigialos’s facilities, such as shops, restaurants and cafés, are within easy walking distance. In the morning, you will be greeted by the aroma of freshly baked bread. The small bakery is located at the beginning of the driveway that leads to the studios. You will find the greengrocer and fruit seller on the other side of the street, and in the café right next to it, you will be served wonderfully aromatic coffee or fresh orange juice in the morning. Makrygialos offers a colourful selection of taverns and cafes, and sitting at the picturesque harbour is highly recommended. Here you feel that Zorba the Greek could turn the corner at any moment. The harbour taverns offer fresh fish daily, and it tastes at least three times as good in these typical taverns with a view of the colourful fishing boats.

On the main beach, there is a friendly water sports centre with changing rooms and various options for buying cold drinks. Boat trips are offered from the harbour, for example to the uninhabited island of Koufonisi, with its beautiful white sandy beach. If you are looking for a secluded beach, you can easily reach it after a 15-minute walk.

But maybe you need a change of scenery! Nothing could be easier, after all, a rental car is included in our offer! So you can easily take wonderful trips to remote mountain villages, visit Byzantine chapels and archaeological sites, discover secluded coves and beaches or just drive along the coast, with one or two detours into the impressive and still unspoilt nature of eastern Crete.

The Miramare Studios consist of eight spacious accommodation units, four on the ground floor and four on the upper floor. They are comfortably furnished to a high standard, with either a double bed or two single beds (one studio also has a sofa bed for a third person). Each studio has its own shower room, kitchenette and, of course, a lovely private balcony with a direct view of the deep blue sea!
