The ochre-coloured sand/pebble beach is lined with tamarisks, providing lovely natural shade and often a pleasant north wind. So even in the summer months it does not get too hot.

To the west, you look out over a small bay that is used as a fishing port. It makes the Greek holiday idyll perfect.

Or drive south to Xerocampos with its turquoise shimmering water and Kato Zakros, where you can walk through the impressive Valley of the Dead, visit the palace of Zakros and also enjoy a swim and a meal.
