Our fabulous Portela Apartments in Kastri promise a holiday away from mass tourism. This town on the south coast is perfect for anyone looking for an unspoilt, hospitable Crete. Everything is still very traditional, on the beach – some people look for a place for nudism – there are no sun lounger rentals yet, but there are quaint taverns by the water, friendly Greeks, an authentic atmosphere and plenty of wine and raki. And, of course, good food. Some taverna owners still have their own goat herds, grow vegetables and serve the best regional products, from meat, tomatoes and cheese to fish, which is landed in the small harbour.

The apartments – a ten-minute walk from the beach – are newly built, modern, well maintained and well equipped. From the balconies and terraces, you can enjoy a phenomenal sea view at breakfast. Sun loungers are available for guests at the beautiful infinity pool. The spacious and bright apartments are air-conditioned and have an open-plan seating and dining area with a kitchenette, as well as a bathroom with a shower, in addition to the bedroom. The good facilities include a flat-screen satellite TV and internet, as well as a stove, coffee machine, hairdryer, iron and ironing board. And of course, a BBQ is not to be missed and the highlight – there is an in-house snack bar by the pool, where you can get sandwiches and cocktails!

A rental car is available for trips into the beautiful landscape and to the attractions of Crete. This will be handed over to you at the airport.
