Charming apartments

The Terra Minoika Apartments are still very ‘fresh’. They were only recently completed. You can see from afar how much passion the owners, Stella and Elias, have put into them.

We don’t usually include more than one holiday home in such a small place in our list of offers, but we simply couldn’t resist, because we just love everything that Stella and Elias take on! Each of their completed projects is always fantastic, very unique and well thought out. You can always feel their respect for the natural environment and the untouched beauty of this magnificent region.

Terra Minoika is a development of six one-bedroom apartments built in natural stone in a very appealing layout. A small wooden bridge leads to the spacious balcony and the front door.

Each apartment is detached and each offers unforgettable, uninterrupted views over the archaeological site of the palace of Zakros, the mighty gorge and the bay of Kato Zakros with its handful of taverns and extensive pebble beach.

The apartments have been lovingly and traditionally furnished. Many of the features, such as the wooden ceilings, the stone doorways (which are a real eye-catcher) and the large panoramic windows, were designed and built by Elias himself.

The bedroom, with its beautiful double bed, is separated from the living area by a curtain, just as it used to be in the old days.

In the bathroom, you will find yourself in the present day, with a large shower cubicle and rainforest shower. The kitchen with adjoining living area is well equipped. Each apartment can sleep up to four people, with the two sofa beds in the living area.

The area is perfect for guests looking for relaxation and tranquility, but it is equally fantastic for those who want to explore the surrounding area, preferably on foot. Elias has hiked many of the trails himself and is only too happy to provide information!

There are some remarkable hikes to choose from!

Stella and Elias are warm-hearted and wonderful hosts, inspiring with their local knowledge, which they are happy to share with their guests. Experience the local culture and the ‘real Crete’ of the ‘Hidden East’!
