Beach and Town

Our Mare Cottage is a real beach highlight on the beach at Ierapetra, Europe’s southernmost town. The popular promenade of this charming coastal town is just a few minutes’ walk from the cottage. A highly recommended beach tavern is conveniently located right next door. The house, with its lovely terrace, is situated in the front row right by the sea – building this close to the water is no longer permitted here. The beach has, incidentally, been awarded the Blue Flag for its excellent water quality and is ideal for snorkelling.

The Mare Cottage has just been freshly renovated and is very thoughtfully and tastefully furnished. Every detail is just right in this house with its Mediterranean summer feel. For instance, the kitchen is fully and very well equipped – cooking here is a real pleasure, especially as there are good shopping facilities nearby. A washing machine, ironing board and iron are also provided. The holiday home has a bedroom with air conditioning and a double bed. The air-conditioned living area features a sturdy sofa bed for two people, and there is also a sleeper armchair available, making the house suitable for a family with children. However, we recommend it as the ideal hideaway for couples in love. A hire car is included in the price of the holiday for trips to the stunning beaches of the south coast and the fascinating hinterland.
